I live in a duplex, and my neighbors have a dog. My bigger dog is very protective, and goes nuts any time they let their dog out. She also will bark when he's just at the back door. So tonight I let her out, and after a few minutes she starts barking. I rush to the back door and call her in, but my neighbor's jerk boyfriend is already outside--exciting her more--complaining about "every night at 2:30 this has gone on for the past four nights!"
What's gone on? Ten seconds of barking? Their dog must be whining at the door or something--which is clearly my fault, right? I have a horrible feeling they're going to complain to the property management company about me. I guess I'll have to start letting the dog out the front door at night.
Poor hiring decisions.

I can't say much, cause barking dogs are one of my biggest annoyances, especially at night. However, I don't have any pets. I would think that pet owners would be more understanding toward other pet owners, especially if their dog's presence is causing your dog to bark.
if they didn't have a dog, i could understand (not necessarily excuse) his comments, but they have a dog!
it's like me getting upset in the post office because a baby is crying, when i have a baby as well.
doesn't make sense.
What kind of dog is she? She looks a lot like my dog who is part affenpinscher/part pug.
I can understand being annoyed about the dog barking -- if it'd been for more than ten seconds. But he had to already be up and aggravated about something else, because there's no way he woke up and got across their house in the time it took me to run across my kitchen (four steps) and yank open the door. But whatever. I've been taking her out front, or standing out back while she's outside, so as not to aggravate him more.
Also, my little dog is a miniature German schnauzer. :)
I'd just like to say what a good pet owner you are to check when your dog barks. OMG, I wish you were my neighbor. My neighbors think it's their right to let their pack of dogs bark all day and night.
People who let their dogs bark endlessly drive me nuts--if they don't stop after a while, there's a reason! They need to find out what their pups need!
